Bologna the 'fat', an introduction

Bologna is a city with a strong culinary culture,  well-known  as 'Bologna la grassa' ('Fat Bologna'). You can enjoy innumerable dishes starting from pasta (tortellini and lasagne), going on with meat (prosciutto, salame and mortadella) and cheese. The local region is also well known for Parmesan cheese, Modena balsamic vinegar and of course some great wines. Are you hungry? Well because we are going to the market:::

One of the most traditional food shopping places is called "Mercato delle erbe", downtown in Ugo Bassi Street. Since the beginning of the century, this covered vegetable market was held in city centre and the present building was inaugurated in 1949, after the war devastation. There are about 60 stalls; the core of the market is mostly dedicated to fruit and vegetables but in the outer walls you can find more of the local products: cheeses, pastas, bread, fish and  meat.

The amazing news is that last year it was recovered and renovated creating a modern and animated place where, near the indoor market, you can taste local food at any time in the day. It offer such a rich variety of dishes: you can choose from trying handcraft beers, local wines, fresh fruit shakes, pizza and panini. There is also a restourant with the most famous dishes of our region. 

I like this market so much because there is a modern atmosphere into a vintage context because all the shop sign are original!

So this week end I discover this fabulous market with my friends::: what a perfect place to rest and refresh after shopping!

Sunny days

The days become shorter in October, but the sun still beautifully warming and energizing our last week end. Strangely, we are still wearing shorts and T-shirts around here... such a lovely way to start this season and to forget the summer madness! So we take the opportunity to enjoy the last warm days eating ice cream and hang around vintage street market:::

Ther are some cute stalls and I found some lovely vintage buttons ::: I have two purse just waiting for them!

Is not time to wear mittens but I realize that in my previous post I didn't show you any picture of  them:::So I decide to wear my fingerless gloves just for a moment to show you how they fit::: and ta-dah!

Good bye August

Hello lovelies! This month is ending and I realize I haven't blogged since the beginning!  I apologies for my absence::: after the 'Blog hop' I visit my parents for summer vacation and return to my small village in the countryside:::  I have needed a little break!

In the village there is no internet connection, no shops except a small bar ::: a super-relaxing way to live your vacation! I spent my time walking around in the nature, doing some botanical exploration and bump into some nice friends!

I left my hook at home but I take a picture of my mother's granny square blanket that is now in  my bed!

During these days I also collect some family times that are so precious to me, cooking with mum and growing vegetables with dad.  I really hope you enjoy my pictures and tales from my small village::: Have a nice week!

Summer chameleon

Hello lovelies!  Summer here is very uncertain and this affect my mood.. Last week we have extremely hot day following pleasant spring days and I try to survive this heat shock (no way to find some relax crocheting after work.. just have shower and lying on the couch!). On friday start to rain for hour and then hail, storm with thunder and lightning... and now it seems autumn. So I decide that it's time to show you some winter work... just waiting for a spot of light to make some picture!

Granny Squares Blanket #update

Hello dear, how are your projects coming along? It's time for an update of the Mood blanket 2014 project::: I know that is not such a big project, because I do only four squares every month but I am enjoy my blanket making! Crochet granny squares is so relaxing and in my imaginary represent sentimental ties and family love. 

I'll been inspired by spring colour doing April and May squares::: so there is a lot of green! 

I show you the June squares inspired to the sea colour:::look back on our last holiday on Isola d'Elba!

Monday update

Hello there!
I realize that I have a lot of work in progress ongoing and It's time for an update!
This two weeks has come around so quickly... I have some days off and I can visit my parents near Rome. 

Our house is in a small village in the countryside and  I have (finally!) time to going around and collect my thoughts. When the whether is not so nice I have been working on some ideas and going on with the vintage scarf and other WIP... So keep in touch because I want to show you some project! Have a nice week !
